The Wrecking Crew meets on Monday nights from 7:00 to 9:45 PM at the McWane Science Center in Downtown Birmingham, Alabama. We have work sessions on our modular layout, the LG&W, work on the Bessemer Hall of History Boxcar Layout, in the past we have worked on a hobby shop layout for Oak Mountain Hobbies in Pelham, Alabama, we build special projects such as the Harry Potter / Hogwarts Layout and have our business meetings. Some years we have a Train Show in conjunction with the Steel City Division of the SER in the fall of the year. Our last Train Show was held at The McWane Science Center on October 21 & 22, 2006. Since 2005 we have held an annual Holiday Train Show at The McWane Science Center running from Thanksgiving to the First week in January. In 2007, the Holiday Train Show at McWane will run from November 23 to January 6, 2008. In past years we have also taken our modular layout to about three Train Shows a year in other cities around the South East. Every summer, we have a family lake party on Logan Martin Lake near Birmingham and we have a year end Holiday Party.

For a three year period up until July, 2005, we had our Monday night meetings at the Westlake Mall in Bessemer, AL. We also opened the LG&W Layout to the public on most Saturday's from 10:00 to 2:00. However, the Mall closed in July, 2005 and we lost our club meeting space. In October, 2006 we were invited to do our first Holiday show at The McWane Science Center. The show was a big success and McWane offered to provide us with a club space. Currently the LG&W is shown only at The McWane Science Center.
