2008 McWane Train Show |
| Our 2008 train show was held at the McWane Science Center in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. This was the fourth consecutive year that we partnered with McWane for a holiday train show. This year the show started on November 8, 2008 and ran ran through January 19, 2009. Like last year the show was on the third floor but this year it was expanded to consume most of the floor. Through efforts of McWane and the Wrecking crew the show was expanded to include nine layouts including three built by the Wrecking Crew. In addition there were many other railroad exhibits including rolling stock, contest structure models, dioramas, photographs, and a riding train. During the first six weeks of the show the Wrecking Crew built a four foot by eight foot model railroad using the HO scale Woodland Scenics Grand Valley kits that was raffled off at the end of the show. The holiday train show helped McWane set new attendance records for November and December, 2008. |
